Mighty Monstera

The Monstera plant, how this one has captured my attention! Perhaps because they seem to be everywhere these days?

They are quite striking, so I can understand why. Although photographing bright coloured LIVING plants is not my first instinct or attraction, I had to give some focus to this little guy, as it seems to have stolen my heart.

Having the nick name swiss cheese plant could be another reason it has my attention! Nom nom! It’s Latin name is Monstera Deliciousa. That only adds to the flavourful picture, doesn’t it? These folk originate in Mexico and rainforest areas where their holey leaves serve to prevent them getting trashed by massive downpours and intense winds. And they can grow to ‘monsterous’ sizes and have yummy fruit.

They are winners all round, though many just love the look of them.

This study is a little bow in honour of my new lush green friend. I hope you enjoy.
